Senior Designer


 

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Designer to lead our Food and Beverage (F&B) industry design team. As a Senior Designer, you will be responsible for overseeing the design process for F&B establishments, including restaurants, cafes, bars, and food retail outlets. You will collaborate closely with clients, architects, project managers, and a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional and innovative design solutions that enhance the overall dining experience.

  • Design Strategy: Develop design strategies and concepts that align with the client's brand identity, target audience, and market positioning. Ensure that design solutions enhance the functionality, aesthetics, and customer experience of F&B spaces.
  • Project Management: Lead and manage the design process from conception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered within budget, on time, and according to client expectations. Coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless execution of the design.
  • Client Collaboration: Act as the main point of contact for clients, establishing strong relationships, understanding their requirements, and effectively communicating design concepts and progress throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Design Development: Lead the development of design concepts, space planning, material selection, furniture design, lighting design, color schemes, and finishes. Ensure that design solutions are innovative, functional, and aligned with industry trends and best practices.
  • Team Management: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers, delegating tasks, reviewing their work, and fostering a collaborative and creative work environment. Encourage professional growth and development within the design team.
  • Design Documentation: Prepare and review detailed design drawings, specifications, and construction documents, ensuring compliance with local regulations and industry standards. Oversee the quality and accuracy of design documentation.
  • Budget and Cost Control: Collaborate with project managers and estimators to develop project budgets, monitor project costs, and find cost-effective design solutions without compromising quality and design intent.
  • Research and Innovation: Stay abreast of the latest design trends, emerging technologies, and innovations in the F&B industry. Integrate new ideas and concepts into the design process to provide cutting-edge and unique design solutions.
  • Vendor and Supplier Management: Source and evaluate vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure the highest quality materials, finishes, furniture, and equipment are selected. Negotiate contracts, review proposals, and manage relationships to ensure timely delivery and adherence to project requirements.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field. Additional certifications or specialized training in F&B design are highly desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of professional experience in interior design, with a focus on F&B projects. Proven experience in leading and managing design teams, as well as successfully delivering high-profile F&B projects.
  • Portfolio: A comprehensive portfolio demonstrating a strong track record of successful F&B design projects, including concept development, space planning, material selection, and visualization using advanced software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, 3D rendering software, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Design Expertise: Deep understanding and expertise in F&B design principles, trends, and best practices. Ability to create innovative and functional designs that cater to diverse target audiences, considering brand identity, customer experience, and operational requirements.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Proven leadership skills with the ability to lead and inspire a design team. Excellent collaboration and communication skills to effectively engage with clients, team members, and external stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines. Experience in budgeting, cost control, and managing project timelines.
